Directed by Sohrab Mirmontazeri, Blue Door is a film about a husband and wife involved in a terrible accident kept secret. The film set records in the realm of filmmaking practice - shooting 118 pages in ten consecutive days. Veteran Director of Photography Tristan Whitman met Mirmontazeri at the Utah premier of the film "Take" starring Minnie Driver and Jeremy Renner (which Whitman shot for the silver screen and eventually, LED televisions.) and later joined Mirmontazeri as Director of Photography on Blue Door.
Sohrab Mirmontazeri DIRECTOR & FOUNDER
Nephew of acclaimed filmmaker and Palm D'or Winner, Abbas Kiarostami - Sohrab Mirmontazeri's films have won international awards and reached audiences worldwide.
Acclaimed for his film, The Beautiful Wind, Mirmontazeri became an award winning filmmaker at the early age of 20, earning the coveted Audience Choice Award from the New York International Film Festival in 2005.
This success led him to a major directing spot at the Universal Studios backlot. The film was halted nine months into production and Mirmontazeri never finished directing the $42 mil. war epic.
Instead he went on to direct a series of short films and television pilots, earning awards along the way - including the Utah Film Critic Association's Critic's Choice Award. Ultimately Mirmontazeri directed his first major motion picture, I Live at the House with the Blue Door, due for release late Spring.
Currently in post production, Mirmontazeri sits at the helm of Mirmont, Inc. - a film and television company incorporated in the state of Utah. Recently he accepted a board position at LunaTalent - an agency whose sister company was just ranked by Forbes magazine as a top development firm in the west coast.
Among many potentials, Mirmontazeri has been asked by world-renowned aerial dance choreographer Aly Rose to document a two month journey of her life as she premiers her dance across China.
